SBE II SCOPE HELP NEEDED
April 03, 2013, 08:36:49 AM
I recently purchased a truglow compact strut and rut scope. The weaver 93 rail mount aligned perfect on by gun. Scope is not long enough to work with mount.
anybody else have same combo

Do you mean that the scope is too short to mount because the rings won't alighn with the slots? If thats the case you can add slots to the base so it will line up or go with a multi slot base like the weaver tactical, which is the same base, just slotted the whole length.I have no idea why Benelli chose the 93 pattern, doesn't give you too many options as most of the bases are short....ward

I don't think i would trust only 2 screws to hold on a scope on.Thats alot of inertia for only 2 screws to handle.Could you redrill that tactical base to match? If 2 screw holes already match up then you only have to drill 2.If you have a drill press or a buddy with one you can do it yourself, i've done it before but it is a p.i.a!Might just be better to slot the one that matches the gun.I've had a gunsmith reslot ones for me and it took him about ten minutes to do it,charged me $5.If you take your time you can do it yourself with a dremel and finish with a small square file...ward

Just thought of another option! make your weaver into a 2pc base by cutting it and then reverse the front section(slot to rear on front piece)and viola!Should work and you will have 4 scews holding it.Should work fine!

Two options better than one. I will give it a try at lunch today. Will let you know how it turned out.
thanks

Just another option but I put a picatinny rail made by EGW on my SBE 2 and it works fantastic.
