Colosssians 2:8... Beware lest any man spoil (fool) you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
I have to admit, yesterday I recieved a phone call from my good friend Ricky, but he had used his wife's phone so the number was not recognizable, he then changed his voice, (sounded like one of those Seven-Eleven Store clerks from India).... I admit he had me going, I was fooled at first, and hate to admit it, but as he put it in between his laughter, "You Got Punked!" What I would like to share with you this morning is when it comes to your Salvation Don't get Punked by Satan!
On this world, he has his army doing his bidding, just like Christ, except for the objective of deceipt, so many of his foot soldiers are hard at work fooling man with their so called "religions" that only build up their ego and not Christ. If there is one thing that Paul was saying in this verse is Don't Be Fooled....there is no philosophy that can replace Christ or the Word of God, these traditions of man that try to teach you any other way to get into heaven, except through Christ, are nothing but vain deceits....There is only one way, there is only one door, there is only the truth that is found in Christ that can set us all free from our burdens and our sins, let no Man tell you any different, let no "religion" teach you any different. Jesus says it in John, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
If you are being told any different no matter how sweet the sermon is or how nice the person is who is teaching you otherwise, DON'T GET PUNKED......
