Honda Rancher Question?

I have a Honda Rancher and need to know about which way do you have the fuel knob turned for the main tank?One end has white on it and other end doesnt!I sure dont want to have it on reserve tank all the time because when I run out then I will be empty.

If you point the knob down opposite of gas tank (white arrow side) it be turned to "on" or the main tank, if it is turned up it is set to reserve. The middle setting is turn the fuel line off.
