I've hunted KS for years and can tell you my best success has been from setting up shop along field edges and just do blind calling. I also use decoys 90% of the time. Don't be afraid to hit them with aggressive calling as the Rios/Hybrids are just different than easterns, at least here in the south.
At home, I run and gun and do very little blind calling and rarely use a decoy. I tried that tactic in KS with little luck. Walk around too much without being in a treeline or creek and you'll scare every turkey out of your section. Where I hunt it is primarily ag fields with little pasture. On the areas with pasture and scattered trees/cedars, run and gunning is more effective.
Again, if I had to chose a method it would be setting up for a flydown hunt, then if that fails, move to an area for mid morn hunt, then afternoon spot and so on. Good luck.
