Anyone have any experience with these 2 automatics by Mossberg.  I am looking to get my wife a new turkey gun(she has shot a Beretta for the past 10 yrs) with a shorter barrell for just ease of handling.  How do they pattern and recoil?  Are they good guns?  Pros and Cons.  Thanks

I really like my 935 Turkey with a 24" barrel. It patterns extremely well so far with both 3" and 3.5" shells.

The 930 is supposed to be a great gun and the only reason I didn't buy one is I wanted a 3.5" gun.

Clark (allaboutshooting) has both and maybe he will pipe in!

I have the 930 Turkey and it patterns really well with the Indian Creek Black Diamond Strike and Hevi-13 3-2-7's.  Will your wife be able to handle the 3.5" capability of the 935?  If not, I would go with the 930.  It is a very well built auto loader and I haven't had any problems with mine so far.

I have a 935 pistol grip turkey model with 22" barrel that I use only for turkey and I love the gun.
It is quite heavy but that helps with the recoil.  So I would ask the question will she be walking and carrying the gun a lot if so may want lighter 930, if not walking a lot the 935 will help with the recoil even with a 3' shell.

the 930 is what you want for your wife, the 935 is heavy
it's not the harvest,it's the chase

I own and shoot both of them. If I had to choose one, it would be the 930. It's just a patterning machine.

Thanks,

Thanks for the answers guys.  Just so happened that yesterday I ran up on a used 11-87 turkey gun with a shur shot stock and 24" barrell.  Recoil really doesnt bother her that much(she shoots a 300 Win Mag during deer season and has shot my 10 gauge numerous times) it was just that her other gun just was not a good fit.  Thank yall very much.

Keep an eye on the o-ring. My buddy got tired of replacing it in his 11-87 so he sold it.
