For the difference in money, what makes the Burris so much better? They look very similar but I have no experience with either. I know the FFIII gets a lot of love but it is a lot higher. Thanks for your opinions.

I looked hard at both. For me, the size was a big factor. Since having to use Burris customer service, I am glad I went with the Fastfire. Not knocking Mueller, but Burris is top notch. One consideration is mounting the Burris. If you get the optional mount for your gun and the optional guard, you can add over 100.00 to the total. Those are optional, not required, but are pricey options. The Mueller locks you into using a weaver rail, but that's the end of your expense. I think you will be satisfied with either.

Sugarray posted this a while back.  I think the biggest difference is found in this picture.

Keep in mind that this is what the FF looks like if you go with the pic/weaver rail mount option.  If you go with the Marlin mount it will sit even lower.

I own both the kicker is I went back to Burris .I won one on a bingo here but I bought and use 3 more for a total of 4. I have to say  aside from the size the Muller is a good site, But I Love the FF's its the best I have used for what I do .

I would say that says a lot. I really had no idea there was that big of a size difference. Like I said I have no experience with the sights. I'm in the market for one though since I put my truglo on the wife's gun.

I use a tru go gobble dot built on a saddle mount because my 870 is not drilled and tapped. I really wish I could use the Burris though. A lot smaller and lighter

Pretty easy fix.  Just have it drilled and tapped for the Marlin mount and be done with it.  If it cost you $40 I'd be surprised (drilling and tapping part anyway) I did the saddle mount thing for quite a while but this is a much better way of doing it.  I wish I knew who to give credit to for starting the Marlin 336 mount craze.

FFIII is the best turkey sight out there, IMO!
They sit much lower than the Mueller, are as tough as a tank, incredible battery life, and 100% waterproof. I have mine on a 336 base, and it just flat out ROCKS!
That along with the best customer service in the industry, makes them my #1 choice in optics!

Do these type sights work good for dove and rabbit hunting? If so, which one of these two works best?

The FastFire on a speed bead mount would do all of the above.

I have never used a red dot sight and I am thinking about purchasing the fast fire 3. My question is can I purchase 1 fast fire III, a speed bead mount for my super black eagle, and a picannty rail mount for a SA-459 and swap the sight back and forth between the guns?

Yes. Order the FF3 with a pic. Mount. Then you can swap the sight back and forth.
