macawood?

Anyone ever tried it?  I have turned a couple of aluminum calls out of it with good results.  I am finishing an aluminum and a copper call for next week's bingo game here on OG.

Dad made a few strikers out of Macawood, but I can't find any of his stock.  Where did you get yours?  I need blanks at least 3/4" x 8".

noisy box call that seems to sound like a flock of juvenile hens pecking their way through a wheat field

Yea, Dad had strikers made from most of those.   I would like to find some Greenheart and Macawood or Macacauba and keep making those.  Not sure about pistachio.

Macacauba makes a really good striker
