Snake bite above boot need chaps

I will re-frame my question do you need chap for snake protection above the 16 -17 inch boots or is that high enough. The great post on snake bits got me thinking and wondering if boots are enough. I didn't want to hijack his post so started a different one my self and no one replayed so I posted again. I have snake boots and used them in Florida in 09 and 2010 but I am headed down again next month, just wondering if boots are enough.
