Ok, now that March is here, is anyone seeing anything? You southern boys must be hearing gobbling and seeing some strutting.
Nothing up here. Snow in the fields is still very deep, so getting to my honey holes really isn't much of an option right now. I'm in hopes to be scouting in the next 3 weeks or so.

I didn't get to scout any this week.
Spring turkey hunting, I love it so.                FREEDOM IS NOT FREE

I watched 7 hens and 2 toms yesterday in our cow pasture by the house. The toms were strutting their stuff all over the place. I also went and listend this morning and had those two toms gobbling away for a few mins, but it was raining so they shut up rather quickly. I am checking some cameras today before I go to the Mardi Gras parade so hopfully I will have some pics to post tomorrow!

I have one property here close to the house. I have 9 longbeards that I know of on that property.

Have a place that I am a guest of that is 2400 acres and there is about 60 longbeards, yes longbeards, cruising that property right now. It should be a fun season!

Haven't been out yet myself, just got 2 more inches of snow last night. Needs to warm up FAST!! Saw a few hens and 2 Toms Saturday stroll through my yard while I was grilling chicken. Tried to cluck to them with my voice but it obviously scared them since they immediately flew off. Guess I should stick to the diaphrams. Can't hunt these birds, but I like to try and make them gobble for my wife. Been seeing them around the neighborhood for the past few years. Had about 8 polts we got to watch grow up last summer.  Amazing how fast they grow!!

I have been out two times the past few weeks.   I have seen where they have been scratching and lots of tracks around the creek that runs through the property.  No sightings or gobbling yet.......

I am going to try and make it back out this week.  I have been doing a little shed hunting also, with no luck yet.

Our big winter flocks are starting to break up.
I have been seeing smaller 15 to 20 bird flocks.
If we don't get pounded with more snow I should be able to get out in the next week or so.
