I have a Mossberg 500 with a 26" barrel. It's relatively light and exceptionally well balanced. It came drilled and tapped and I especially like the flat underside of the fore end. It just fits my hand properly.I've shot a variety of shells through it and have loaned that gun to friends to use at shoots and hunts. They never want to give it up when I do that.In looking for lead shot loads, I'd recommend that you consider the #6 shot lead shells and look at some of the loads made for pheasants. They are more widely available in larger payloads and #6 shot than are some of the "turkey" loads. You may also be able to find some of the older Federal turkey loads that had 1 5/8 oz. of #6 shot. These are the pre-Flitecontrol Wad shells. They do a good job.Of course tungsten-based shot shells like Hevi-13 or Federal Heavyweight #7s will do a much better job than any of the lead shells. Like many others, I use the SSX turkey choke in my 20 gauge 500 and it seems to work well with any of those shells. Thanks,Clark
