age clarification

Dr. Lovett,

I read on the general forum where a guy killed a "gobbling jake" with a 10.5 inch beard, but had jake spurs (nubs), and a jake fan. Can you explain this? Seems to me like he would be at least a 2 year old, but with spur issues and tail molting issues???

He was a freak. 

I've heard of an adult gobbler with jake tail and an adult gobbler with nubs but not the same bird.
