Our youth weekend is Nov 3rd in MS. This will be my son's 4th deer season and he is looking forward to it. I've got a few nice bucks on camera that are showing up with shooting light. I hope they stay active for another few weeks. He's killed on every opening weekend so far and would like to keep the streak alive. If not every weekend is youth weekend for him. I let him shoot all the deer and the only deer hunting I do alone is a little bow hunting and the days he doesn't want to go, which is rare. I hardly kill one myself any more, would rather leave them for him. My daughter will start next fall with us, she is just not ready yet. Good luck and be safe.
On another note, y'all tell me if I'm wrong. I find it harder to kill mature deer with a kid and a rifle than alone with the bow. Maybe in a year or two that will change, but we've had more than a few get by us.
