Quote from: nyhunter on September 29, 2012, 05:21:43 PMgun was a 870 20ga with a 26" barrel.all shots were at a measured 40 yds, shooting at 3'x3' sheets of paper. shells were Hevi-13 3" #7, pellet counts were in a 10" circle choke #1 was a ssx .550, gun was clean1-1072-114choke#2 was a tru lock .575 non ported. gun was clean1-1222-1473-136 I was hoping for better " higher" numbers but you get what you get I guess. I will be trying the federal heavy weight #7's next, and proly another choke to throw in the mix. any sugestions on a choke and what size?
Quote from: nyhunter on September 30, 2012, 08:11:06 AMThe temp was 56 and the wind was 5-10 mph, and i only shot when it was calm. I agree with Clark those numbers represent #6 shot more than #7. The barrel was beep cleaned last year and maybe had 5 shots threw it with foster type slugs. Then it was cleaned again before i shot it with the H-13 turkey loads. I shot at a bulls eye and then circled the densest part of the pattern. I'm wondering if shooting the lead slugs maybe had something to with the low numbers.

Quote from: nyhunter on October 01, 2012, 08:41:26 PMunfortunately i didn't check the shot itself, the shells did have#7 on them.
