Bad day

Have you ever had one of those days that just didn't start off right. This is my rooster Skeets. He had one of those days today. I was getting ready for work and noticed a ripple in the pool. Thats not out of the ordinary because we have 2 labs in the back yard. Then I see both dogs come to the sliding glass door, and there was still a ripple in the pool. So I checked the pool and there was Skeets swimming in the pool and couldn't get out. Don't know how long he had been in there but he came right to the edge when I walked out there like he was asking for help. So I knelt down and picked him up out of the water and placed him on the cement. He just stood there. I don't think he could even move. He was too tired. So I got a towel and dried him a little. Chicken feathers aren't made to repel water. So he looked like a drowned rat. When I got home from work he was all dried and looking good again. So have you ever had one of those Skeet days when things don't start off like you want them too? BTW chickens can swim. At least for a little while. Lol

I'm glad your chicken didn't die, but I have to say that I laughed a little after looking at that pic and you saying he wouldn't move after you pulled him out. I never knew chickens could swim. Maybe he was hot and needed to cool off.

The addiction will cost you time and money and alienate those close to you. I can give you the names of a dozen addicts — myself included — whose wives begin to get their hackles up a week before turkey season starts and stay mad until a week after it closes.

Yep Joe!!
With the humidity here the last week, I feel the same way.
I'm either getting older, getting out of shape, or both, as it seems I sweat a lot more than I used too.
Just standing in one place thinking about what to do, and sweat was poring off my forehead.
I felt like an almost drowned rooster today. Too tired to crow.
O'well, at least I was outdoors.
Glad you were observant to what was going on in the pool.
God Bless,
David B.
