I started using one last spring after I fell into a 2ft deep hole sneaking in the dark.  Any else use one?

I use a shooting stick, I just extend it all out. I know its not as heavy and wouldn't support alot of weight but it does give you alittle support and helps with my balance in the dark. I used my gun once to cross a creek bank ended up with mud on the side of my face so I quit doing that LOL.

One of my duck hunting pardners gave me a Trex aluminum "hiking staff" this past Christmas.  It is a three part design (knurled locks with three extensions) and it has a wide base and a standard tip. So far I have only used it duck hunting (very nice when working your away around a muck bottom swamp while wading for ducks shooting).  I haven't used it, or anything like it, for turkey hunting.
"I admire a good turkey hunter chiefly because such a man displays qualities that we usually associate with pioneer America-patience, enthusiasm, woodcraft, game sense, and a quiet hardihood undaunted by rain, by cold, by long tough miles, by disappointment."
