Must Haves For The Shop

Just wondering what everyone thinks are "Must Haves" for a call making shop? I have the basics like a lathe, drill press, band saw, and miter saw. What other tools are beneficial when it comes to making turkey calls?

I really like my dust collector. You should have some sort of belt sander and the dreaded table saw. Good luck,

What Trkyhtr said x 2 and add a jointer/planer to the mix depending on what your making

build your shop around what you are going to want to make. then select your extras with usage in mind, I have a shop with three lathes, bandsaw,tablesaw,beltsander,drill press,scrollsaw and lots of space for storage for wood, paint and stain area, woodburning and carving area ..... and still go goo-goo over tools in catalogues and retail stores....it's just a bug you won't get rid of.....good luck

IMO

No need for a table saw, if you want to do inlays a router and router table will do a nicer job and safer.

I would also add the bench/beltsander and D.C.  And for the sander the 4" models work just fine, yes you can hog down and stop them but you just learn not to - let the snander do the work

Thanks for the suggestions. I think a planer will be my next purchase whenever my funds get back right. I've bought a lot of tools as it is haha

Keep an eye on craigs list. I see planers on there all the time and you can save a couple of hundred bucks off the top.
