I saw this bird when it was poult in 2010 and followed him thru winter until the spring. He is a real trophy

That is cool. I've only seen one wild bird with white on it. Years ago driving to a lease during deer season I saw a flock of hens in a hay field near Waynesboro, MS.

I've seen a bunch of those... in platic crates on the back of a semi.
Makes you wonder where the genetics came from. I saw a bird in OK with almost white feather tips... looked like a merriams. I spoke with a guy at their DNR and he tried to tell me it was probably crossed with a domestic bird. I'm no geneticist, but found it hard to believe that just the feather tips would be white with the rest of the bird looking like a wild turkey.

What is going to be interesting is to see how many of his offspring are going to have a lot of white on them.
Good thing you got that one out of the flock!

Beautiful bird, congrats! I found a few grey colour birds last fall hoping to harvest one this spring but they disappeared. Not sure if they were easy pickens for the yotes or their genes didn't help them through the winter.
