Any strategies suggestions for the end of the spring turkey hunt?  I may be able to get in one last day before the fall hunt.  I want to make it count.

Find Turkeys and be where they want to be.

That was the same question I loged-in to post...coming up on last week in Virginia and wondering what the best calling sequences should me.  Right now most, if not all, the gobbling seems to be over.  I've wondered if I should use my gobbler tube and try that for a change?  Also, maybe more kee-kees?  Any advice would be much appreciated...don't really think there's any breeding going on.

When breeding is over, male birds return to their bachelor groups while hens raise their broods through summer and fall. They lose the hostility towards each other as testosterone levels moderate and they become very social again toward their kind. Good time to use coarse gobbler yelps and clucks. If birds arent gobbling anymore, than that answers your question about using a gobble call. Stick to gobbler yelps and scout to find where they got to. Often they head for higher elevations but they will never be too far from a water source, even a small one. Warmer temps mean find shade, cooler temps and water.
That ol' tom's already dead. He just don't know it yet .... The hard part is convincing him.

Are you REALLY working that gobbler, or is HE working YOU?
