Just wanted to step up here and sing the praises of Lyle and Houndstooth Game Calls. I ordered a deer antler tube call from him last winter (which was awesome), and figured I'd try out a few of his mouth calls while I was at it.
I've been playing fits lately with big manufacturers and inconsistent mouth calls. Haven't had much luck with smaller operations either, because they either get big and I run into the same problems, or they go out of business and I can't replace them when I need to.
Lyle is a hoot to talk to on the phone. Straight good ol boy from Abalama who'd probably turn into a turkey if he was given the chance. Seems like every time I talked to him he was packing up headed out on another turkey trip somewhere. He always had a few minutes to talk turkey and ALWAYS got me what I needed in no time. My last call was a hail mary after I ripped one of his calls. Of course, he was packing up headed turkey hunting, but took the time to not only ship me out replacement calls, but he tweaked them a bit for me to fine tune the sound I was looking for.
I can't say enough about his dedication and customer service. Calls sound great too. Now if you get too big and start sending out mass produced, non-consistent calls, I'll probably call you out on it...
I've put 7 birds on the ground with them this year already, and the season's only half over.
