Short & Sweet!
April 21, 2012, 04:02:53 PM
After an opening day of no gobbling and then having 2 hunts where what could go wrong DID go wrong, I found an "easy" bird this morning!
I found me a new farm to hunt. Called the owner yesterday and he said "You can hunt it tomorrow but if it rains this weekend the hay will be too high for you to drive thru next week." So, I went and scouted yesterday, found where I wanted to set up and went in this morning with my good friend Tommy. Sat up on the edge of a hayfield with hardwood ridges on either side and a creek to the left and a thicket to my back.
At 6:54 he entered the field, at 6:55 he hit the ground. Made it home in time for breakfast!
