My dad and I went to our lease tonight to try and locate some birds since the NY season is under 2 weeks away. We didn't see one bird on the land that we can hunt, but we did see 5 longbeards on another piece of property. Go figure.
There were about 10 deer behind the barn of the farm we lease. I was glassing them a little bit, then back out to the fields hoping to catch some turkey popping out. I put the binoculars back on the deer and was shocked to see what I saw. I jogged over to find where my dad was to let him get a look at it before the deer left. We sat and watched the piebald for probably close to 45 minutes from about 500 yards. I did get a few pictures, but only 1 of them came out decent enough to post. It looks like a young deer, probably last years fawn. There was a good sized doe out there that looked like she had white socks on her front legs as well that was hanging with the piebald.
And here's the birds that we can't hunt.
