Windy Day Double
April 17, 2012, 01:13:58 PM
A buddy and I braved the winds Monday morning and had a great morning. We heard the first gobble at 5:46 and it continued until they hit the ground and then the rattled off just a few times. I had scouted this spot and knew that these turkeys were using this alfalfa field after fly down so I felt pretty confident in the setup.
There have been 4 toms in there and they were all together that morning. Number 4 of the pecking order got chased around and ended up strutting into the decoys at 8 steps. He walked right past my strutter and beat on my DSD Jake. I came to full draw when he went behind the strutter's fan and then had to hold for a bit until he got off my decoy. He got throat punched and with that 2 other toms and a hen raced in and the stutter took a load of shot to the head and we were done!

and that concludes the lesson for the day! Great hunt and video.
A veteran is someone who, at one point, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America' for an amount of 'up to and including their life.'
That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.
