Our birds have stopped gobbling. I have found some dust bowls strut marks tracks and what looks to be small belly feathers. Can anyone tell me what part of the breeding phase we are in? I hunt in east central alabama.

Im getting reports from KY. that the hens are setting on eggs.I would hunt the area around the strut marks .Here in S. Mi. the toms are strutting for the hens. In  N. Mi.some are still in large flocks.

I'm not sure what part of the breeding cycle we're in in the Tennessee mountains either.....I think most of the birds stopped gobbling during opening week. It has sure been tough for about 10 days now. The season has been open for 16 days and the birds gobbled good for about 4 days and now- nothing.

Birds here in Southwest Louisiana have been off and on after the first 3 weeks of the season. Just 5 days ago was hearing a lot of gobbling, yestereday and today NOTHING! We have one more weekend in certain areas and hope I can get a bird called up for my son.

I guess this is not the norm for most of you guys. Here in Ny that sounds like every year.
