So I got up this morning and decided too go pull one of my camras. Well when I was about 50 yards from my camera I herd what sounded like 2 birds gobble a little ways behind my camera. I decided to sneak up to the field edge too see if I could see the birds but they wernt there so I decided to walk the field edge to get my camers quick. Well when I got there I looked back and there were was a tom steadily walking a away from me. I wasnt in much cover but he didnt fly or run away.

My question is is he ever going to come back?
Thanks,
Tyler

I have found that most of the time if you don't chase after him he will only go as far as it takes for him to feel safe. Then again if he is looking for new territory or hens he may go a long ways.

I'm sure he will stick around. I've bumped birds doing pre-season scouting and like spurman said they moved just far enough to feel safe.

It depends on how spooky the birds are there. He may change his pattern a bit, a lot or not at all. You need to scout and figure it out. :anim_25:

The birds in this area dont seem to be spooked to easily. One day I got to withing about 20 yards of 5 toms without realising it. I just kept walking on the trail and didnt stop to look at them and they just walked off but today this one kinda just trotted off and started gobbling once he got over the top of the hill in the field???? Whats up with that?

if you did not push him, he went a couple hundred yards and 30 minutes to an hour later was probably gobbling again.

All should be fine.  Birds get spooked all the time by cars, people, yotes, etc.
