pure gold question

My primary turkey gun is an 835 mossberg with a pure gold choke last night i gave the whole rig a good cleaning.  Thats when i noticed just how rough the inside of my pure gold choke is. It has what look like machining marks running both parallel and perpendicular to the bore. My question is should these be polished out or are they part of the design?

Only Pure Gold could answer this question.  My thoughts are this.  A company experiments with designs and engineers a product to perform to a certain standard.  The Pure Gold Choke tube is designed to help strip the wad from the shot column shortly after leaving the barrel which allows the shot string to stay together longer down range.  Pure Gold knows what the design is and what the machining smoothness is required inside the choke.  I and alot of OG members on here don't believe in polishing our choke tubes.  I shoot a Pure Gold .670 in my 835.  With 3 1/2 # 7's, she puts 300 plus in a 10 at 40 yards.  My thing is if it isn't broke don't mess with it.  My suggestion to you is go to the Pure Gold website to the left of this post and contact them.  I believe you will find polishing the inside of the tube, will have a determental effect on the performance of the choke.

The setup patterns very well. It seems like the scratches are really random. I guess if its not broke dont fix it.

Looked at mine and even after shooting a bunch of Hevi through it, it is slick as bull snot.

Mine has some machine marks too but it patterns great.  I think I will let mine be.

Mine is very smooth and shiny and shoots well. H13 #6 200+ on a warm day.
