I had a great hunt yesterday afternoon and killed my second bird for the season.
He weighed 21 lbs, had an 11" beard and 1 3/8" spurs. He was so handsome my wife wants all of his feathers for arts and crafts projects. I breasted him out and put the remainder in the freezer to be dealt with later.
He came to my location without calling, from about 400 yrds across a field, following two hens and four jakes. He finally got within 35 yrds and was getting nervous, so I put him to sleep. I'd been hunting this bird for two weeks and it finally all came together. I was in my hide about 30 min. earlier than any other time I'd hunted him and I believe it made a big difference.
I'd post pictures, but can't figure out how to do it. I've tried numerous ways and nothing works.
