I'm looken forward to my first air boat ride. We don't have those suckers in Iowa, and they look like a blast.

I just saw one two days ago here in MN. No idea what it was doing here in winter. Sounds like a lot of fun Jay, good luck hunting.

If it eats I can catch it, if it bleeds I can kill it.

I would think those suckers would travel on ice as well as water.

My Iowa prospects might have taken a giant movement upwards today. I'd lost my top Iowa spot this year, but retained some land next to that that has Turkeys, but not a top spot. Today a couple of guys came in I know, so I sat down with them to chat while they ate lunch. The older of the two has a ton of land that he leases to a big group of Michigan hunters at 12 grand a pop for the last 6 years. I brought up if the same group is still leasing his land and he says NO. He found out none of them had ever bought licenses or tags all the time they hunted Deer there. Ticked him off royally, and he threw them off the land. Sooo, I'm like, can I guy now get permission to Turkey hunt it? He smiled and said he'd let me know in April, so I don't know if he's got another group bidding or what, but I've got a shot. The land is loaded with Turkey, and hasn't been hunted for years being the leasees were only Deer hunters. The younger guy sitting there, a son of a friend of mine, pops out with he knows a bunch of land that is Deer hunted loaded with Turkey that's never been hunted, and he's thinking of bow hunting it this year. I'm now in 7th heaven, and hoping all of this pays off with permission to hunt either or both of these pieces. I'm always on the make for land, and if I hadn't talked to the older guy years ago about hunting land, I wouldn't have known about what he had, and followed up on it today.

Sounds great jay. I just got 2 new places this past weekend. 1 that's loaded with turkeys the other that looks amazing on google earth but time will tell.

You have to keep working it all year. I'm always especially worken the outdoors types like these 2 guys, who are both avid sportsmen. Even if they don't have a place, they might know someone who does.

4 weeks from today till I'm hunting Osceolas. I haven't been this excited since I was 13, and found my older brother's stash of Playboys. :you_rock:

Red meat isn't bad for you, fuzzy green meat is bad for you.
