Gobble Call

I want to add a Gobble Shaker or Call to my arsenal this year and was wondering if you guys can recommend some.  There are quite a few out there and very few stores around here that carry them where I can try them and hear them for myself.  Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I've got a Primos. It works. I've worn out an HS. Use it with conviction, and it'll work.

That Haint call sounds pretty good.  I just watched a few Youtube clips on it.  The Knight and Hale "Hale Fire" Sounds pretty good too and is a bit cheaper.  Not sure which way I'll go but I feel that there are definately times when a Gobble Call will help.

Ive heard the flextone gobble call was easier to use than the haint. I cant use the flextone so im debating trying the haint. Ive seen years where gobblers go to one another quicker than coming to hen calls at different times during the season. If you find one you can use and that sounds realistic it should be golden. The guys on the haint website are tearing it up. I may still try one.

Gator - I haven't gotten an answer in a few days, so I'm gonna take a wild guess, lol. If a gobbler hangs up at 100 yards out, is hot & answers every hen call you make but won't budge, why not use 2 different hen calls and mix in a gobble or 2, especiall if a jake gobble call. That would tell old Tom that a jake is getting to his bird(s). He might come runnin' in. Or, he might run the other way (just my luck) - but he isn't coming anyway, so what the heck.

I've tried shakers, and gobbling on box calls and tubes.. got the Hale fire too this spring

they all sound ok but not up to standards.. after about 3 years of practicing Id say my mouth call gobble is the best so im going to just keep working on that

Fed Ex delivered my Haint call yesterday.  Yes it does take a little practice but in the hour that my wife has been gone this morning (waited for her to leave so I don't get yelled at), I think I have this call down.  Get on youtube and watch the how to video.  It's not as difficult to blow as some people make it out to be imo.

I use one only when nothing else works and I have nothing to lose. It plays on his jealousy and dominance. IMO of course.

Thats exactly when I use mine, well until my reed ripped lol mine is probably 5 seasons old. Guess its time for a new one.

My budddy and I were in a situation the other day where the Hale Fire worked amazingly for us.

We had been setup in this opening in the woods for about 20 minutes and had tried all diffrent types of hen calls. Loud or soft nothing was comming in or gobbling for that matter. But then i decided to make some loud yelps with my mouth call then quick spit it out and used the gobble call. Half way through my gobble birds sounded off. They countinued to gobble but only when I gobbled first. They wouldnt gobble to hen yelps for some reason. We eventually did get one of the birds and the whole story of the hunt is under my post in the general forum.

But to me I thought I would give this type of calling a try because we all have had birds gobble to our hen calls before so I thought that I would try to make it sound like the actuall toms we were trying to call in were late and try to make them think that another tom had already beat them to the hens (my buddy and I) and would want to challenge this new tom (me).

Im just throwing this out there because it worked for us and maybe can help others also.
