Spent a little time with William today shooting at his place. Had an 870 20 ga to tinker with and a new weatherby 20 ga to get a choke for.
We got the 870 that was averaging in the 190s at 30 up to high 220s at 30 with federal 7s. So it ought to be where I want it at 40.
We put a 562 in the new weatherby SA08 20 ga.....it put 236 at 30 federal 7s. Im going to shoot this gun again tomorrow at 40, it ought to be smoking.
William also was nice enough to make to experimental chokes just to try in the 870. 568 - 4 ring and 568-3. With a dirty barrell one put up in the 190s at 30 and the other put up mid 180s with the federal 7s. They were beautifully spread patterns and would be great YOUTH chokes for somebody. Hope he didnt chunk them.
