Dexter is about 10-15 miles west of my house. I received this report from a friend who received it from the Sheriffs office. Praise GOD nobody was hurt.
Advisory: Tornado damage in Dexter area

The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office along with many first responding agencies from the area have been searching and assessing damage in and around Dexter Village due to the severe weather.
- Currently there are no known serious injuries or deaths.
- 5:29pm was funnel cloud sighting at N. Territorial and Dexter Pinckney. Soon after the tornado touched down in the Village area.
- The worst hit areas were the Carriage Hills and Huron Farms neighborhoods. Currently there are over 100 homes with significant damage and around 13 that are totally destroyed.
- The storm moved from North West Washtenaw County through the Dexter Area and headed South East.
- Incident command is in place including multiple fire agencies.
- Additional fire and support equipment is staged and in place if needed.
- Police have established points to direct traffic including inner and outer perimeters.
- Area residents who have power should stay in their homes.
- Individuals who may require some shelter should respond to the Dexter Mill Creek School.
- those not from the area are encouraged to stay away as many of the roads are blocked off.
- The situation is in stasis and fire and police are working cooperatively to confirm damage and provide assistance and support where required.
- Medical units are also on scene and in place providing support as may be required.
