Pay to Turkey Hunt Question
February 17, 2012, 12:44:15 PM
I was talking with a non - turkey hunter ( what ?) the other day and he said he'd like to try hunting them. He followed with "whats the going rate for a one on one guided hunt?". I've been blessed with never having to pay to hunt them so I was at a complete loss for an answer. Does anyone here have any idea? I know that species, lodging and food can add to the price so leave that out.
So, for simplicity....... a one on one... for a day.... for an Eastern? anyone? Thanks in advance.

Depends on the guide. Not sure if many do 1 day hunts.

I've guided day-hunts in the past, and here's what I did:
You meet me about 2 hours before the hunt (4 a.m.), and I drive us the rest of the way. No breakfast, no lunch....I do have bottled water......I put us on a roosted bird that I scouted previously, and what happens, happens......$125, and we'll hunt 'til you kill or want to stop.

I suppose most are packaged hunts including overnight and meals. The one day info is appreciated ... thanks to all. Any other day rates are appreciated.

You also have to figure in the license fees as well for in state or out of state.

You can budget $900.00 to $1,200.00 for about any out of state trip, except Florida. Some a little more, some a little less. Thats semi-guided. three days, two birds, license, lodging food, and gas.

I : charge 1050.00 for 3 days in Nebraska for 2 birds,250.00 for a 3rd bird.Guaranteed ,no chance to kill you dont owe me
anything.You
hunt with me personally and you will be successful----- in 5yrs i have never failed to fill out a
guy.It
helps that we have a truckload of gobblers and i only take 10 hunters a season.I dont know anyone that offers this but myself.
Worse than the bird flu on gobblers!

You have to just check around. I have mostly seen about 300 to 400 per day without license.
