Supernova Steadygrip, good deal for $450?

Hi everyone! I'm new here but not to turkey hunting. I've been hunting with 3" guns and I'm wanting to move up into the 3 1/2" world.
I'm wanting a gun that a good brush gun. I get into some pretty tight areas sometimes in my hunting grounds and want a short gun for maneuverability. I also want a pistol grip. I've been researching a lot and really like the 835 tactical turkey and the Supernova steadygrip. I'm not very tall so I like the 835 because I can easily shorten the LOP. If I get a Supernova I may shorten the stock. I had this done on my other Benelli and love it. I don't sell guns much so I'm not worried about resell.
There isn't a 835 tactical turkey anywhere close to here to try out. I have shouldered a supernova with the steadygrip and it felt real good.

There is a used supernova with steadygrip for sale locally for $450. He says its only had 10 rounds thru it and comes with a jellyhead choke. Would you buy it?

Sadly, you can't use a Benelli mercury recoil reducer in the SuperNova Steady grip which kicks like a mule w/ 31/2" loads.  Both of my hunting partners who have had the SuperNova Steadygrips have gotten rid of them due to patterning, recoil and severe rattling problems.  There are a bunch of folks on here who swear by the 835's, but I never liked the weight and balance of those guns and sold mine.  IMO you ought to look at some of the 31/2" Remington 870's or 1187's.

I love my SN with Steadygrip in advatage camo. I bought it used with a JH choke for $450.

It does not kick and has far less forearm rattle than any 835 or 870 I've held.

I had a SuperNova with the steady grip. Shot real well but like others said it did rattle more than i liked. So i sold it and bought another 11-87

there is a good fix for the nova rattle , it helps a bit , take a allen wrench to forearm and tighten those bolts up

I have put quite a few rounds through my Nova in the last year and there aren't any rattles anywhere in mine. And when I say quite a few, mine was used every weekend as a skeet shooter for nine of the last twelve months. Usually by more persons than just myself over the course of the weekends. If well over three thousand rounds of shells through it hasn't caused any rattles, I don't foresee any in the near future.

Don't want to hijack your thread, but the concensus is that Nova's rattle most, then mossy's then Remmy's. It will be easier to find short Rem. then Mossy, then Nova's with Pistol Grips.

The consensus is wrong from my experience. However, there is a difference between novas and supernovas. The novas do have more rattle.

A lot of shotgun shooters do not like the Nova or Supernova.  The rattle, the excessive plastic feel they have, and the large foreend doesn't work well for guys that don't have hands that belong to NBA players.  There are a lot of good guns out there, and if you are thinking about getting the stock cut down then the gun doesn't fit you anyway.  Keep looking and good luck.
