Hello All,

I'm new to the forum, and love that I have found a place dedicated to my favorite past-time...turkey hunting.

I am thinking about switching to Hevi-Shot this year from the traditional lead. I usually don't change things if they aren't broken, but after listening to friends stories, online write-ups, and reviews, I hear that Hevi-Shot usually gives you 10-20 more yards in range if you find the right choke/load combo. I hunted with Hevi-Shot this past duck season and to be honest, didn't much care for it.

Have any of y'all made the switch to Hevi-Shot, and if so, what do y'all think about it? I've already broken down and bought a choke that is rated for Hevi-Shot, so I am at least going to pattern it and give it a try.

I think most ot the folks here are using heavy shot.Check out the Turkey guns forum on this site. Or do a search for hevi shot.
