Choke/shot questions for Stoeger M2000

I have a Stoeger M2000, I ended up getting a IC 665 last year and like the choke but was thinking about trying a Pure Gold 670 this year just to see what it does. The only issue with the IC was my POI changed to low and left which ended up makeing me move to a Mueller quick shot site to correct it. I got the choke right before season so i didnt really have the time to call IC and see what could be done if anything. the only thing about the PG that i am not sure of is the 670 construction, with the 665 i was getting 244 at 40 yds with Hevi #7 3' shells. I am not complaining about the pattern and was actually pretty impressed with it but would like to see if i can get just a tad better or a bit more uniformed.

I normally dont shoot over 40yds anyways and dont want it to be too tight but wanted to be able to reach to 40-45 if need be with no issues. Any suggestions on the PG or would a 660 do better out of a Stoeger/benelli gun?

I actually have time to play this year so looking to try something out to see if i can hone in on something right!! as i said the IC works great but not really comfortable with the POI issue and having to rely on a scope to correct it, while i know this is a common issue i am still not a fan of it.

also anyone have any other ammo recommendations from this set up minus Nitros?

I have not seen a pattern using a pure gold out of a M2000. I convinced a buddy to try a jelly head and Hevi shot. He was using a .655 Jelly Head and 3" 2oz #6 H13s and got 206 at 40 yards. Thought that was pretty respectful.

I should have .660 Pure Gold chokes for most guns no later than February.

Thanks,

Would a 660 or 670 be a better option? I know you have to shoot them to know for sure but just trying to figure which one to start with

I have the Stoeger. I run a IC 665 in mine. I have pattered it with the following.

IC 665
Terror Choke 665
Kicks 660
Comp n Choke ...XX full
Rhino 673
jelly head 660
Briley Hevi shot choke 665
Pure gold 670.

i didnt count pellets but it was obvious to the eye that the IC patterned the best, followed by the Kicks, then the Terror Choke. My gun didnt like the Pure Gold, your may. Hope this helps. If your set on it, I would go with the 660.

what construction did it end up being and how did it shoot?

Most of them like 670 in my chokes.  I don't know with other chokes.

Different chokes will perform better at different constructions. While pure gold may give the best pattern at .670 a jellyhead will perform best at .655
