Black duck hunt...

Went out with my buddy Mark and his 2 sons, Hunter and Easton today to a pretty consistent black duck hole. Usually get a mix of some other birds as well but today about 90% of what we saw were blacks. They cooperated and we all managed our one black and I got a bonus greenhead.  Doesn't seem like much but it was a fun hunt with the boys with a few birds in the bag and a few missed opportunities.

Blacks are a prize anywhere you duck hunt and those are 4 fine Stud Blacks. Congrats on a GREAT hunt.

The kids were a hoot. Hunter, the older one killed the first bird in at about 2 min into legal, then grumbled that Easton was getting all the shooting! The little guy Easton, had a crack at 6 or 7 before he finally rolled his out, but it was a huge one. Then he tells us he was holding out for a Booner!! Mark is a taxidermist and I told him that would make a sweet dead mount.

I like seeing birds from other parts of the country that we don't get here in MD so figured I would share this hunt even though it was just a few birds. The dog is in her 10th season so have to get as many pics of her as I can.  The tide had come in by the time the pics were taken, most of the water was actually muck that she slogged through to get 3 of the birds.  Memorable hunt for sure!

That is sweet!have to get up that way here in the next couple of years to get my black duck.
have the mallard,Louisiana mottle and the Florida mottle on the wall and just need the black duck.
