tracking device update

some might remember that i took a Black Bear this year with my bow. while skinning him i found a very small micro chip under his hide. this device was the size of a piece of pencil lead and about 3/16" in length.
i was very lucky to even find it.
our local DNR found that the bear came from Maryland and sent the micro chip to there biologist.
the Biologist contacted me a couple weeks ago with details about my bear.
my Bear was tagged with his 3 brothers as cubs in a cave back in "06" his mother was tagged and weighed as well. she was 170lb.
my bear had traveled 50miles from the den to where i harvested him.
finding out the history of this bear really added a lot to the trophy itself.

Great follow up. Any picture of the chip? How in the world did you even see it? Never skinned a bear, but skinning a deer by self, one doesn't always happen to see the other side of the hide when pulling it off. Where was the chip located?

it was in the center of his back over the tenderloin.i wish i would have taken a pic of the chip, but i did not. it was pure luck that i even seen it. just luck
