I am thinking about a used 935 for turkeys and predators. Could you folks who have some experience with these shotguns
please share your experiences? What chokes are you finding useful for these purposes? Does recoil seem less? Thanks...

They are a good gun.  They will put up good numbers with turkey loads and with buck shot.  They will put a very good pattern with the duck load also.   Now the only thing is they have a good kick to them.  Now that said I plan on getting one to duck hunt and shoot buck shot out of.
Tell us just how dead do you want them to be and we will see if we can get that for you.

The kick is taken care of with a limbsaver pad. I have one on my 835 and it does make a difference, so much so that it the first thing my hunting partner put on his.

Agreed. That pad and a very firm cheek weld will help with recoil. Sometimes a neoprene sleeve on the comb also helps.

I have the first model of the 935 grand slam. Patterns good.

You can do a site search using (935) here and get a lot of information on the model 935.

My 935 is a great gun. It has a 25" barrel and is full camo. It will cycle all shells including 2.75" shells reliably. I've used it off an on in the turkey woods and it works well with 3" Hevi-13 "Bronze" shells with 2 oz. of #6 and #7 shot. I've had excellent patterns with the SSX .670 and the Hevi-13 .676 turkey chokes. I frankly notice the recoil most in the comb area (see my prior post about a neoprene sleeve) and not as much in the butt of the gun but I also have a Limbsaver pad on it. For sighting-in I also put a SF pad over the Limbsaver and it really helps a lot.

My gun has an excellent barrel but it was really covered with preservative grease when I received it. It took some time and work to get it really clean and shiny. The trigger is also quite good, crisp with no creep.

I'd recommend the gun as one to consider if it feels good to you when you shoulder it.

Thanks,
Clark

Try a Carlson's Dead Coyote Choke with Dead Coyote shotshells or #4 buck and you should get some great patterns. I can kill a yote out to about 50yds with that combo in my 835.
