I turned this pot last weekend for a slate surface.  I sent a picture to a gentleman about it, but haven't heard back...  It may be looking for a home.  I haven't applied a finish in case I needed to add a name for someone... just thought I would post a couple of pics to see what you thought?

The white residue will disappear when the finish is applied.  The finish will also bring out more contrast in the wood colors.

Sweet call. I can't wait to see it with the finish on it.

Good lookin piece of wood.  Is it stabilized?

It is stabilized.  I get mine done at River Ridge Products in WI.  It took about 3-4 weeks between getting my stuff in their rotation and the actual 2 week process of stabilizing.  It's a logistical nightmare, but the end results are worth it.  The stuff turns off in dust rather than ribbons like you would expect from plain maple.

Beautiful wood! I don't think you'll have that very long.  :icon_thumright:
If I had a dollar for every gobbler I thought I fooled I'd be well off!
