Here's a good sideview pic of the backyard buck. Can any of you folks tell about how old he is ?

     Thanks  vaturkey   :newmascot:

Hard to be sure. I don't see tons of fat on his head yet, but he has a good pot belly with good muscular structure around the shoulders. Hard to tell if his back is swayed. I would bet he is 4.5 maybe 5.5 at the most. A great animal.

Either 3.5 or 4.5yrs old.  Probably 3.5 if I had to guess.

His back end still looks jacked up like a jackrabbit. I say 3.5.

What little I know about aging deer I would have to say between  6 months and 6 years.  ;D  I have never been any good at the aging thing.

The best way to age venison is hanging it in a cooler after you skin it for 4 to 6 weeks.

I would say 3.5. Now in Iowa I'd say it's a yearling. LOL

Awesome buck. I would guess 3.5 or 4.5. He doesn't have that sway in his back, big brisket and a pot belly like those old boys. I would kill him in a heartbeat, but another year or more will make him a freak. Deer like that just don't tend to get age on them, too hard to pass that up.

I guess 3.5 but would like to see a pic in about 6 weeks
