I guess those guys that run the machines to produce those coins are some of the "saved" jobs that our president was talking about back in 2008.
Just another example of the insanity of government spending. A democratic congress passed a bill to mint coins with each of the presidents... years later we are in dire economic straits, but the bill was passed so we just keep minting unwanted coins...
Couple this article with the fact that it costs more to produce a penny and a nickel than the face value of the respective coins and muse about the intelligence of those in Washington... Please don't get me started...
Now lets spend millions to build a new vault and millions more to ship the coins that nobody wants to use to be stored in that new vault. Wow!
