Anyone else use one --- very soft call, oh my goodness.
Love the Lord God with all your heart, mind and soul.  Love others as yourself.

Let us be silent, so we hear the whisper of God.

No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.

Is this a Purr pot you are talking about?  A pot with a piece of normally grey slate with high sides, no sound board and one BIG exit hole used for soft calling.  Does a Great job of soft purring and soft clucks.  ???  If it is, there are many call makers that make them and yes they do have their place in your vest.  They make some of the most realistic Soft Purrs and Clucks.  They are normally used as a finishing call for those stubborn gobblers that hang up at 75 to 100 yards out of gun range and want the hen to come to him. Use it and most of the time the gobbler will come to the end of your gun barrel, as long as he doesn't see movement.  Remember he KNOWS exactly where the sound is coming from and will ZERO in on that spot looking for that perceived hen.

You mean this old thang?!

I called in a bird the very first time I took it in the woods and the only reason I don't hunt it all the time is I have too many other good calls so I rotate them. It is a very sweet soft talker and unique. It has a similar sound as other purr pots.

Dan Harris is a great guy and always enjoy talking with him at Unicoi when I can go. I like the cedar sound better than the other woods but all are good. Dan showed me how the rotating lid allows you to rest your hand on it and call with one hand while setup, not possible with regular purr pots.

AHHH!  I looked up Dan on the net, and I found some of his books but didn't see any calls related to him.  I've never seen this before but looks very interesting.

It is a piece of slate free floating on springs inside the box. He said someone showed him one and he decided to make them since they are unique. It has a real mellow, realistic sound!  I run different strikers to change the tone, but all are good. He provides a thick rubber band to hold the lid shut while carrying it. Dan deserves more attention than he gets on here!
