Going 9 for 12 is 75% !!!I have not looked at every team. But the Killer B's are 19 for 12 for a 158% success rate !!! I am sure some other teams are in a similar place.Just testament to the guys in this loose and friendly competition. Buncha stone cold killas !!Kudos to all the participants and CONGRATS to all your successes this spring !!!!

Quote from: Happy on May 12, 2025, 09:45:44 PMThese teams are definitely composed of some of upper class of turkey hunters. The scoring system is somewhat more regionally biased, but any team that can consistently bring 9+ birds to the table year in and year out is doing better than average. I would venture to say that most teams of 12 are doing 20+ gobblers between the 12 hunters without straining too hard. Congrats to all. There is no shame in that, regardless of the score.
Quote from: Happy on May 16, 2025, 07:26:11 PMDo you mean everyone on your team doesn't kill at least 7-8 birds per yearI would say no. And I would also say we don't give two hoots about numbers. To be honest i dont know how many birds our team killed and dont care enough to go back and count. For me personally, the day I even remotely care about stuff like that is the day I quit the "competition". We like to have fun and enjoy the spring. The GOATS was formed from everyday guys that have plenty on their plate that just love to turkey hunt when they can. If it had been formed with the premise of building a stacked team, I would be embarrassed and ashamed because that's not what turkey hunting is remotely about to me. We have killed plenty of turkeys, and more importantly, we have had fun. Personally, i will trade watching my boy shoot a two year old over me, killing one with 2" spurs in a heartbeat. I will save being serious for more important things.
Quote from: zelmo1 on May 17, 2025, 05:41:02 AMI am trying to get an Osceola, a true Osceola, not a corn pile bird or even a Jake. But I travel 20-40 miles to hunt Maine and that's usually all my traveling. I'm more excited about my wife doing some solo hunts this year than anything else. Youth hunters and my wife always get first crack at whatever birds come in. The contest is supposed to be good healthy fun and ribbing. At least it is to me. I read every story and enjoy them all. My real competition is with myself, as I think it is with most of us. I'm always in awe of the guys that tag out every year. I'll keep doing my thing and the chips will fall as they may. I'll be happy with my new friends and memories, that's what I am hunting for. Z
