Well, another missed opportunity.... BUT, I don't mind at all. I'm at my grandson's 3rd birthday party. I just love that little guy!!
Of course it rained last night, and its been drizzling all day. Normally I would have put on rain gear and hunted over a decoy spread on a field on the cattle ranch. But family comes first.

No go tday the gobblers were very silent in I didnt hear 1 gobble saw 3 hens and I just got done doing a lil clucking and purring and Mr.Fox shows up that was pretty cool. Was raining when I entered the woods and it was raining when I left the woods. Back at it Monday with more rain in the forecast.

I'm back and birdless. 
I just cant seal the deal. I'm changing my handle to Johnny Snake bite.   I'm still after them and so is Jr.  Weather is getting a little screwy. Taking a day off tomorrow, I'm hoping for Wednesday. More to follow.

I had a really nice hunt on a Pa bird yesterday. After a morning of heavy fog but great gobbling, I was unable to get in the game with any of the birds.  I jumped to a new spot.  About 1040 I heard a distant gobble.  I cut the distance and set up and was met with silence.  I thought maybe I had busted him trying to reposition, but called again, and got and got an immediate response, but higher on the ridge.  Okay, back in the game.  After a quick change setup, they were close.  I called him in with a smaller longbeard and two jakes and dropped him at about 45 yards.  A nice 2 year old but not an upgrade.
