Well, I got whooped again in Florida, lol. Great trip, Tom007 did get a beautiful bird but no luck for me this time. Great hunt and shot on his bird. Overall great trip with the one bird and the people and food was great. No luck on a retirement property in Tennessee, but Mrs. Z and I had a great time looking. Maybe one more time in Florida, third times a charm right, lol. Thanks to Tom and Mike Robare for a great time. Check out Mikes award winning calls on his FB page. I have a fair few and Tom grabbed a special box. Maybe next time.  :funnyturkey:  Z

Hunting these swamp dwellers really changed my mind on what really is the toughest species to hunt. It took a collaborative effort with Zelmo, and Mike Robare to get a lucky chance at one of these wary birds. The high water mark in the trees where I got him was about six foot high. It took us 4 hours to finally get him to commit into range, we got into his "nasty" comfort zone where other hunters might not venture into. Mike Robare has a tremendous knowledge of this property, it showed in every set-up where we had turkey action. I never realized how renown a call-maker he is, and how good his calls really are. A big shout out to Mike, he's a great guy. And Mr. Zelmo, thanks for including me in creating a memory that will last forever. Be safe...

Love the competition with those Swampers.  They are the hardest to kill IMO.  Hunting and seeing them isn't the problem, it's getting them to the end of the gun barrel, that's the challenge.  It took me 4 days, several years ago, to get my bird and we hunted hard.  Congrats 007!  Z it's not easy but it will happen.

We may have met.  I spent some time visiting with Mike Robare this weekend.  I was the good looking one in camp.   :TooFunny:

The good Lord ain't made a gobbler I can't kill.  I just gotta be there at the right time.....  on the day he wants to die.

It will happen Z, I got faith in ya bud.
Tom, congratulations on a beautiful hard earned bird. Remember I want to hear the blow by blow when you get a chance.
Memories for a lifetime for the both of you. Way to go guys!
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, tired, beat, thoroughly used up and totally worn out from chasing turkeys and loudly proclaiming; "WOW -- What a Ride!"

Tom007

Will do brother, amen and thx...
