Since we are a team that is based specifically on successful use of smaller gauges, we have taken the opportunity to show off our chosen weaponry. What will you be deftly carrying to your appointment with a loudmouthed, oversexed bag of #MeToo this spring?

Am I the only one whose mind went somewhere else in church when we would sing "Soon and very soon
we are going to see the King?"

Cheers  ;D

Here's my WMD.

Franchi Infinity SL.

.565/.575 carlsons chokes.  I like them more forgiving than too hot.   I shot a 300+ in 10" at 40 with a .555 but liked the ~250 pellet count better with the .565.

Sumtoy mount and Burris FF

Sent it away for the cerakote and dip but I forget who.

Had my gunsmith take 1" off stock and add a limbsaver pad.   He also smoothed up the triggers to 6# and 4#.

So light I forget I'm carrying it and sometimes I can't find it when I set it down.  Lol

Beautiful in it's sheer potential. I like that the hydrodipper got the pattern to run down the length of the gun like a real stick, instead of perpendicular.

In order to make it fair, I'll be using a firearm most of you probably carried when you first started hunting.

My shootin' arn started out life as a 20 gauge Remington 870 Express that I won at an NWTF banquet. I was perfectly happy with my Browning BPS, although the weight, length and recoil of it was a real hindrance. I wasn't really looking to change guns, but I had been reading reports here on OG from hunters who were putting up stunning patterns and piles of dead gobblers next to small piles of spent yellow shells. I decided to make her into a dedicated turkey gun. I raised the comb on the stock, gave her a custom 3D camo outfit, mounted a red dot sight and a handwoven paracord shoulder sling on her. She has had her bore polished (!) and is setup with a Remington Super Full choke and will be unleashing the fury of 3Seasons handloaded TSS nuclear bombs on the unsuspecting lover boys this year.

Cheers  ;D

Never seen that 3D camo effect before ...I must live a sheltered life. Is that a new dipping technology...or a fabric cover? Very cool, but I would be nervous about laying that gun down in the woods somewhere!  :D

I actually designed that process myself. It is very effective. I had a 3 year old gobbler stand at 27 yards and spend the rest of his life watching me move that gun 90 degrees.

I pulled my four turkey guns out of the safe today. I had planned on using one of my 20 gauges until I shouldered my Mossberg SA-28 Tactical Turkey, it just felt right. I like that's it a few inches shorter and lighter than my other guns. The 28 gauge doesn't give up much to my 20 gauges, especially shooting 1 1/2 ounce Apex Mossy Oak blends.

My turkey gun of choice is a 20ga, SBE 3 with a RR560 choke and a Vortex Venom red dot
