Dinkin" Around...made some cane yelpers

Had a guy send me some river cane (ain't got any around me) and I finally got around to making a few cane calls from some instructions I got online.

I made them with different diameters of cane and some have a high pitch, some low. Figure the lower pitch ones might be good gobbler talk. We'll see what the judges say this spring.

Came out ok and seem to sound good...to me anyways. Not too hard to get some turkey out of them but the larger diameter ones pull a bit harder.

I burnt the calls to get them brown. That top piece is unburnt cane.

Nice, been wanting to try making them as well but no cane here either, what approximately is the diameter of the pieces?
