Looks like the weather is gonna be tough on opening day- any MS guys planning to brave the storms?

Mossyguy

Not me...it's a good possibility it could turn ugly tomorrow.

Time to go is already limited enough for me this year. I'll check the most updated forecast in the morning . And play it by ear . If it's bearable I'll go as long as I can. But will not be staying in the woods in tornadic weather or lightning .

As terrible as the weather looks for tomorrow, the opposite holds true on Sunday, or at least for East Central MS, with exception to some forecasted wind well into midday. The very, very best of luck to all of my fellow, in-state brethren this weekend.

bbcoach

I hope ALL you guys got in your morning hunt.  I just checked your radar and the rain doesn't look crazy except for northern MS.  Hope the wind isn't bad and you can get on birds.  Best of Luck!  4 weeks to go in Eastern NC.  Have fun!!

Nothing worse than anticipating the opening day for months and then having the weather screw everything up.  I sympathize with you guys that are having to deal with that today, and especially those of you that have limited windows of time to hunt.

Brings back memories from opening day back in the 1980's for me. Could only hunt weekends back then and the night before the opener it snowed a foot on us. Where we had camp set up at 9,000 ft., we had no choice but to pack up and get out of there before we got snowed in.  Talk about being bummed!

Anyway, best of luck to whoever braves the storm!  :icon_thumright:

Lol. Rain not the problem .
Had 3 widow makers fall within a 100 yds, of me
In about 30 mins.  When 3rd hit the ground I hit the road.
Stay liquid guys

Wind is howling here in east Ms with more crappy weather on the way so I stayed home...according to my camera the birds were out doing their thing it seems. Sure looks like a strutter in the background..what say you  :turkey2:
