First of all, A big CONGRATS to OJF for our first gobbler of the year!

Having said that, using OJF's pictures for examples of what is necessary in scoring a gobbler for the contest. (no offense intended OJF...just constructive criticism for all of us to learn from)
Weight pics: the gobbler hanging from the scale is good. Also, a close inspection of the scale is readable at 19 lbs. so I think we're good with the weight pics. (might want to pick up a digital scale...easier to read and much more accurate)
Spurs: Both spur pictures could be challenged in that they do not clearly show the tape at the base of each spur due to fingers obscuring them. The use of the flexible tape is good but the pics probably won't pass if someone was to challenge. (If possible OJF, take better pictures of the spur measurements
Beard: measurement will not pass for the contest. The pic must clearly show the tape at the base of the beard where the breast skin meets the beard sheath, must show the entire beard, and with the longest hair of the beard shown on the tape. (better picture needed here)
Score card: additional picture must be added showing each required measurement (weight, beard X 2, and each spur X 10) and with the total score shown.

Bottom Line: We will put up the score (59.375) based on the measurements provided, but without additional pictures and measurement verification, it might be thrown out.

Thank you for the feedback, no offense taken. First time for me so I didn't know what I was doing. I will do better on the next pictures with a bigger bird to replace these ;)

Also my tape measure I packed sucked I had to hold my hand on it to keep it from retracting, so I will be buying a new tape. It made it very difficult to take pictures lol

When your by yourself taking pics, clothespins or some kind of clip works good to hold 1 end in place. Especially for straitening ou the beard for a full measurement

Don't feel bad. I have struggled getting good pictures when I am alone and trying to do it. It's all for fun anyway so don't be too concerned. I am just glad you put a bird on the board early, let the other teams growl and whine, to me your score counts.

good job randy, you even hid the tire marks on that bird ( that comment was for the wannabees and fake flockers)
