I bought the Burris FF3 and Sumtoy's mounting base.  However,  the removable aluminum action cover for the SBE 3 on a 20 gauge is VERY thin.  Once it is drilled and tapped,  there is not going to be much thread to screw contact.

Where and how are folks mounting to the SBE 3 20 gauges?

easy answer is get a meadow creek rib mount.

hardest answer is get the new SBE3 20 gauge version that comes drilled and tapped :)

Just back up the receiver some.  There is plenty of meat to drill and tap it a little further back with no issue.

I set up an SBE3 20 gauge last year with a FF3 using a meadow creek rib mount and it is bullet proof, highly recommend.  I have the exact same set up on my berretta A391 12 gauge and have been using it for 5 years, not a single issue.

Benelli has a receiver cover for the 20 and 28 gauge that is made thicker and comes drilled and tapped with 2 holes. I think they sell them on Midwest gunworks.

If you drill it on the back you will be fine.   We do it  Rob Roberts and the Factory does it.  You do that you be fine you just not be part of the fan club.   :funnyturkey:

Thanks.  I don't think I would like it out on the rib even though others do.

I had one on an O/U i set up for turkey. Mount is SOLID so no dig on it, but (and I know this may be silly) I really hated the look of it way out there.

On a positive side, it gave me a HUGE FOV vs closer to my eyes but man I just never could get past the overall look of it. Plus with it way out there, turning the sight on/off or making adjustments was a pain

For me, I taped the sight to the gun at several spots and when out on the rib,  my FOV was smaller then when closer to my eye.  Close to my eye I eliminated the frame in my field of view.  On the rib, I could see the the frame - too much actually.
