Jordan Yelper vs Trumpet

I have a couple trumpets that I really like - Clay Townsend and Greg Gwaltney and now I'm looking at similar suction calls.

My question is what is the difference in sound between a trumpet and a Jordan and the other yelpers. What do you think the Jordan excels at?

Good question.  I guess I don't run my Jordans enough to really know.  I have one that I feel I can run soft easier than most, but I also have a Jordan that's noticeably loud and harder to soften.  My first yelper was a cane yelper I bought on eBay for $50.  It's hard to beat.

I think the sound is very similar if both are quality made. I have an ebony Jordan, a cane yelper and they play almost identically to some of my other trumpets made of Blackwood, Osage etc. I use mine for early morning tree yelps as well as thru out the day hunting. It can call soft or loud depending on the circumstance. A lot of it depends on whether the practice has been put in to run either the Jordan or a trumpet. If you can run one you can run the other.
